Prop firm payouts and tax in Italy

There is no Agenzia delle Entrate ruling on prop firms. Doctrine treats payouts as consideration for a service, i.e. lavoro autonomo. Occasional activity gives redditi diversi (lavoro autonomo occasionale). Habitual activity needs a partita IVA, using the regime forfettario or ordinary IRPEF, plus INPS Gestione separata.

Usually taxed as: self-employment incomeNo specific ruling — general rules appliedTax year: calendar year (1 Jan – 31 Dec)

The Italy tax office has not ruled on prop-firm payouts specifically. The treatment below applies the general rules for this kind of income.
