Import into PropFundHub
- In PropFundHub, open Import & sync in the sidebar and choose the Import tab (or go to
/import). - Under Destination, keep Upload to my account selected.
- In Switching from another journal?, click I'm moving from <your journal>. This tells PropFundHub which file to expect.
- In 1. Upload your export, drag your file onto Drag and drop your CSV or Excel file here (or click it and pick the file). CSV, .xlsx and .xls files all work.
- Check Platform. If you skipped step 3, it says Looks like a … export when the file is recognised. If it is wrong, pick the right one in the list.
- In Import into account, pick the prop account these trades belong to, or + New account… to create one. If the file holds several accounts, you get a 2. Match accounts step instead: for each account in the file, pick a PropFundHub account, + New account…, or Skip. Names we recognise are matched for you.
- In Times in this file are in, pick the time zone your old journal shows times in. Not sure? Leave My time zone (this browser) and compare one trade after import.
- Look at Review and import. Check the first few rows: symbol, side, prices and P&L.
- Click Import N trades. When it finishes you see Import complete with trades imported, rows skipped (and why), the date range, the accounts found in the file and where each account went.
What carries over
- Trades: symbol, side, size, entry and exit price, open and close time.
- Fees: commission and fee columns. If there is only gross and net P&L, fees are the difference.
- Notes and tags: notes, tags, setups, playbook/strategy and mistakes, when the export has them.
- Risk: stop, target and R-multiple, when the export has them.
Not carried over: screenshots, daily journal pages, custom fields that are not in the file, and open trades.
Duplicates
You can import the same file again, or a newer file that overlaps the old one. Nothing is counted twice.
- PropFundHub compares each trade with your journal: same symbol, side, open minute, close minute, prices and size.
- A match is marked already imported in the preview and is not added again.
- This also works against trades that came in from broker sync, the extension or the NinjaTrader add-on.
- It does not match if the old journal wrote the symbol differently (for example
ESinstead ofESH5). Check the preview if you also sync the same account live.
Excel files
CSV, .xlsx and .xls files all work. For a workbook, PropFundHub reads the first sheet that has data, in your browser, and treats it exactly like a CSV. Dates and times come straight from the Excel cells. A password-protected workbook can't be read: remove the password first.
Several accounts in one file
Some journals export all your accounts or portfolios in one file. When PropFundHub finds more than one account name, it adds a Match accounts step:
- Each account in the file gets a row with its number of trades.
- Names that match a PropFundHub account (same name, same account number, or very close) are picked for you. Check them.
- For the others, pick an account, choose + New account…, or Skip to leave those trades out.
- Import stays off until every account has a choice. The summary shows where each account went.
- Fills from different accounts are never paired together, and duplicates are checked per account.
Files with one account (or no account column) skip this step: you pick one account for the whole file.
Time zones
Many exports write times without a time zone. Pick the zone your old journal used in Times in this file are in. Times that include a zone (for example 14:05 UTC or 14:05-05:00) are kept as they are.
Common errors and fixes
| What you see | Why | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Missing a Symbol column | The export left out columns. | Export again with all columns switched on. |
| Missing an Entry Price column | Same as above. | Export again with all columns switched on. |
| unreadable open date/time | The date is in a format we can't read, or a spreadsheet changed it. | Export again and upload the file straight away, without opening it in a spreadsheet. If you must re-save, keep dates like 2025-03-13 14:05. |
| Times are a few hours off | The file has no time zone, so we used the wrong one. | Remove the import from Trades if needed, then import again and pick the right zone in Times in this file are in. Duplicates are skipped. |
| Day and month swapped | A file mixes US (03/04) and European (04/03) dates. | Re-export with one date format. Dates with a day above 12 tell us the order automatically. |
| trade is still open | The trade had no close in the old journal. | Import it again after it closes. |
| cannot read side | The side column has a word we don't know. | Use Long/Short, Buy/Sell, L/S or BTO/STO/BTC/STC in that column. |
| This file is larger than 10 MB | Very long history. | Export a shorter date range and import in parts. |
| This file has no data rows | The export was empty. | Check the date range or selected trades in the old journal. |
| Match accounts step appears | The file has trades from more than one account. | Pick a PropFundHub account (or Skip) for each one. Import stays off until every account has a choice. |
| This Excel file is password-protected | The workbook is locked. | Remove the password in Excel, save, and upload it again. |
| This workbook has no data rows | The first sheets are empty or have no header row. | Put the trades on a sheet with a header row, or save that sheet as CSV. |
